Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is a fundamental priority at Yew Tree Farm School. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where pupils feel secure, respected and protected.
Safeguarding leadership and responsibilities
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Yew Tree Farm School is Amy Grix, SENCo. The DSL has overall responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school.
The Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Adam Penman, Operations Manager, and Edwina Grix, Headteacher.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead or a Deputy Safeguarding Lead is available during school hours. Safeguarding concerns outside of these times should be reported to the relevant Local Authority safeguarding team.
Safeguarding procedures
Safeguarding procedures at Yew Tree Farm School are in line with current legislation and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education. All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and are responded to promptly and appropriately.
Clear procedures are in place for reporting concerns, recording information and working with external agencies where required. Safeguarding practice is regularly reviewed to ensure it remains effective and up to date.
